Born in Québec, Libby grew up in an artistic family, was encouraged to love art from an early age and was inspired by many well known Québec artists. Although studying art in public school, her life took a different path as her family moved to India where she decided to study nursing. Back in Canada, she finished her nursing degree at Queens University. She married a military officer and their years together have included two children and involved travelling the globe - living many years in Europe and the Mediterranean and across Canada. Libby maintained an interest in art and studied whenever she could in spite of frequent moves – first year Fine Arts at the University of Alberta, watercolour and acrylic courses, etching, pen and ink, life drawing and history of art. She painted and sold her art on these travels. Her paintings can be found in private collections around the world. It has been Libby’s dream to devote herself to painting in retirement. She and her husband chose to retire to the beautiful Okanagan Valley and Libby is living her dream! She paints mostly with acrylics. Libby is a Juried Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, member of the Naramata Arts Studio and the Penticton Arts Council.
