My studio is a place I love to be and painting is a passion for me. I am interested in the play of light and shadow, I take delight in the rhythm of the rows of grapevines, the gentle hills with dry brush growing on them and the ever changing lake colours in the Okanagan Valley. The mountains and lakes further afield provide inspiration from many camping trips to the "beyond". I paint En Plein Air (outdoors) whenever I can as I feel this captures the true essence of the landscape. I may start with a photo but once immersed, the painting takes over and leads me. I use brush strokes and colour to express a mood and what I see rather than copying in a realistic manner.
