Libby Parsons

Born in Québec, Libby came from an artistic family and was inspired by many famous Québec artists. Although studying art in school, including classes at the Ontario College of Art, her life took a different path as her family moved to India where she studied nursing. She finished her degree at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.

Libby married a military officer and their lives together included two children and involved travelling the globe, living in Europe, the Mediterranean and across Canada. Libby maintained an interest in art and studied wherever she could in spite of frequent moves - first year Fine Arts at the University of Alberta, watercolour and acrylic courses, etching, pen and ink, life drawing and history of art. She painted and sold her art on these travels and her paintings can be found in private collections around the world including that of the Belgian Royal Family.

It has been Libby’s dream to devote herself to painting in retirement. Libby and her husband chose to retire to the beautiful Okanagan, British Columbia where Libby finds lots of inspiration! In addition, they spend many weeks a year camping throughout western and northern Canada. Libby gets inspiration from these wonderful landscapes and paints en plein air on these trips whenever possible.
